Doug MacLeod

Doug MacLeod is celebrated for his superb songwriting, masterful guitar work, soulful vocals, wit, and unforgettable live performances rooted in storytelling. His songs bring characters vividly to life, drawing on his own experiences. A multiple Blues Music Award winner, Doug earned the 2024 Acoustic Album of the Year (Raw Blues 1) and the 2023 Acoustic Artist of the Year. In 2025 he received two more nominations for Raw Blues 2. His 2022 release A Soul to Claim was named a Downbeat Magazine “Album of the Year.” Over four decades and 29 albums, Doug’s music has been covered by legends including Albert King, Albert Collins, Joe Louis Walker, and Eva Cassidy, and featured in TV, film, and stage productions. He has toured internationally, hosted blues radio shows, written a long-running column for Blues Revue Magazine, and appeared in the documentary Resonate: A Guitar Story.
