BAI Opening Reception

Opening Reception for all three exhibits will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. BORREGO SPRINGS ART GUILD MEMBERS SHOW:  Annual show of art by members of the Borrego Springs Art Guild. OUR IMAGINARY DESERT: This mother and daughter show celebrates the plants, animals, and people of the Southwest desert - but with a playful twist. Cher Townsend's figurative clay sculptures often incorporate found elements discovered by the side of the road. Her roadrunners wear boots, and her jackrabbits snuggle up to coyotes. Melissa Lakey works in mixed media for her interpretations of a desert where you might catch a glimpse of a coyote floating by or hear a banjo played by a ghost cowboy. Their whimsical pieces hint at a story but leave the viewer to create their own. MEASUREMENTS OF EXPRESSION. The exciting abstract expressionist paintings of local Borrego artist, Wil Gardner. The work will be displayed in the North Gallery.
